Twilight was like the third major book series I ever got into. It was also the series that brought me and my now best friend together. We bonded over it about a year and a half ago during school and still love to watch the movies together. And while we both agree the movies are cringy but in a weird way still decent, but are the books any good?
While the whole plot is quite interesting to say the least. Is the book as a whole good? And to be honest I'm not sure. I know the plot is intriguing and yet a little weird but the actual writing to me, is a bit cringey. The line "This is the skin of a killer," sounds very cringy to me. I don't know why, it just is. He is referring to how he SPARKLES in the sun. It doesn't get much further from a typical vampire story than that.
But on the other hand, there are some lines are that are pure gold. My favorites include, ""I want you, and I want you forever. One lifetime is simply not enough for me." Or the forever iconic "I'm gonna fight for you until you heart stops beating." Jacob Black does have some good lines I'll admit.
I don't think I can really chose a side on this matter. I'm slightly biased. This series is one of my favorites. But yet I still find certain parts cringy.
one thing that is a major red flag was Bella and Edwards relationship. Forced her to chose a boy AFTER her proposed to her. The stalking he did after meeting her for five minutes. In which he considered killing people just to drink her blood...not to mention all the nights he spent watching her sleep. And they weren't together or even friends at this point. Just plain creepy. And when her forbade from meeting Jacob. He literally broke her truck to stop her.
But at the same time he really cared...
So trash or treasure?
Lots of Love xx
