These are some of my favorite books I have read, I know I say it a lot, but, it is true. In some of these books, the main plot is about LGBTQ characters and others just have a Pride character but is still important.
Let's Begin!!!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - The only pride character that comes to mind and affects the "plot" is Patrick. He dates a boy named Brad, they get very close at a certain point in the book. I will avoid too many spoilers but I will say that Patrick, despite all of the hardships he endures, is one of the most happy-go-lucky guys I have read about in a long time. He goes through a lot of changes, some positive and some bad. Overall, he is a phenomenal character.
The Mortal Instruments - One of the main-ish characters, Alec (my favorite for sure!) is openly gay. It took him a long time to come to terms with whom he loved. But once he finally found himself he was so much happier and finally free. He dealt with a lot, he worried about being out because of what people would think of him. But, eventually, he stopped caring and was just himself. He found love (my all-time favorite ship) and is happy with him. The way Alec and he SO interact with each other is so pure and always warms my heart.
MALEC for LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Great Pandemic: 2038 - This story I read about a day after it came out, (pun not intended), and the main characters, Elijah and Sergio, are adorable together!! they both take a while to come to terms with whom they love and what it will mean for their futures. The story is not entirely centered around their love but it is most definitely and massive part.
They Both Die At The End - OMG!!! I read this book while in my science class and my friend took my book away from me because I was crying!! I love this book. The title says it all, but still, read it. Two boys find out they are about to die in about 24 hours so they randomly find each other and live one last day together, despite never meeting before. This book doesn't focus on their romance too much I feel, but it is still adorable when it shows. Their love for each other is heartbreaking, heartwarming, and adorable. I highly recommend this book to any reader ever.
TBR LGBTQ+
I have several very popular and hyped-up Pride books on my TBR. I have started all of them and I either lost interest or was just too distracted at the time in my life to care about the book. I am not going to talk about these books right now. I have heard nothing but positive and lovely things about these books. I was just unable to read them because of where I was at the time in my life. I will hopefully read them by the end of the year though.
Red, White, and Royal Blue
The Song of Achilles
The Gravity of Us
Till next time luvs!! Take care!!
